Just a flavour of our ceilidh

Our Ceilidh gave us a great opportunity to communicate our literary and musical heritage to a guest from another country in Europe. Vesna , a young teacher from Slovenia has been working with the class and has been sharing her life in Slovenia with the children.

The Slovenian flag was on display
at the Ceilidh alongside the Saltire.
Vesna tasted locally made cheese, Scottish shortbread and fudge thanks to Molly Hay's mum and Mrs Stanger!Yum!
Vesna commmented on how similar the cheese was to local cheese made in Slovenia and said it was lovely to taste.
We have to say a big thank you to Vesna for being behind the video camera for the whole Ceilidh! !

Our Ceilidh

Wonderful stuff class 4/5!
You presented a great afternoon of traditional Scottish
entertainment.
It was very clear that much work
at home had been
put into producing such
confident performances.
It was lovely to have so many family
members in the audience.
A special thank you to Mr Cant for
playing for us.
The sound of the pipes is always special.
Photographs and video clips will be
posted soon.

Tag Rugby Sessions Term 2

Great side pass!
Fantastic try!
Good catch!
swerve
communicate

Each session of our six week block
Tag Rugby taken by Bruce Ruthven
is full on action and fantastic fun for
over 50 minutes! Great too for
working on skills such as listening,
communicating and cooperating.
We also get those last rays of warming
winter sunshine. Although there is
no time to feel cold during the
action packed sessions!

We were very lucky
to have Grant McKelvie with us today who coaches
the Scotland under 18 squad at
Murrayfield in Edinburgh and is part
of the Scottish Rugby elite training group.

Mr McKelvie commented at the end
on what a super group of young people were
there and how impressed he was with
the commitment and performance.
